Yet another heat of zombie movies and more inspiration for our upcoming title. This time the homework consisted of some more recent Romero classics including “Dawn of the Dead” and “Land of the Dead”. Both movies are pretty awesome in several ways and thus highly recommendable. Though one can’t point the few corny aspects which is simply part of the genre out – we rather want to celebrate the cool aspects. A part from Dennis Hopper in the role of the villain, we particularly liked the idea of how the survivors had to plunder the stores for supplies in the unsafe zombie infested zones of the city. Our game producer loved the opening scene of X where the Y arrives at the once friendly suburban neighborhood which has turned into a dead zone full a mayhem and gore. Check it out:
um i really need to know if you guys will possibly have some sort of filter or somthing for lots of blood/gore and if the game will be 3d or somthing close because i have family walking through this room a lot and watching tv and such…sooo….
Hi there, thanks for the post – Looking forward to reading more about Zombie Pandemic (fan of zombies AND games) I’m just starting out on game development, and I think I’ve settled on experimenting with C++ (I’m a web designer so Flash + AS2 are more my kinds of things). Do you know of any good resources or tutorials for learning C++, and the kinds of software I’ll need to download to start experimenting?
Anyway I’m also blogging about my game development *adventure* at progspot.wordpress.com – if you have any advice or pointers please feel free to drop me a note! Good luck with ZP!
Cheers
erm probley yer if so your might be screwed
Hey sorry but the new dawn of the dead and land of the dead aren’t the best examples of movies you should watch the original dawn and diary of the dead the truth is I’m surprised you haven’t been attacked on the street for showing the new dawn of the dead and saying Romero had anything to do with it’s creation the only similarity between the to are they both take place in a mall not being mean just pointing it out.
